Fashion Buyer
We usually respond within two weeks
The Buyer is responsible for commercially building and buying product ranges that are aligned to the brand strategy, customer demand and financial objectives of the business.
Working closely with the Head of Buying & Planning, Planner and Design team, the Buyer ensures that the right product is bought at the right price, in the right quantity and at the right time.
The Buyer acts as the commercial partner to Design throughout the product development process, providing input on costing, pricing, supplier capability, MOQ, margin, range architecture and commercial viability, while Design retains ownership of the creative and technical development of the product.
The role requires a strong balance of commercial instinct, product judgement, negotiation and execution, with clear ownership of range performance and buying decisions.
The Buyer should operate with a strong sense of ownership: proactively identifying opportunities and risks, making recommendations and driving actions rather than waiting for instruction.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Build commercially balanced ranges alongside the Head of Buying & Planning and Design team.
Use sales history, customer behaviour and product performance to inform buying decisions.
Identify range gaps, duplication and commercial opportunities.
Work closely with Design as the commercial partner throughout the product development process.
Own product costing, supplier negotiations, MOQs and lead times.
Ensure products are delivered within agreed cost, margin and launch parameters.
Work with the Planner on buy quantities, size curves, colour splits and channel allocation.
Manage and develop strong supplier relationships.
Review trading performance and make recommendations on rebuys, markdowns, carry-over and future range opportunities.
Support store and channel ranging based on customer profile, performance and stock requirements.
Maintain visibility of critical path and production timelines, proactively escalating risks.
Work cross-functionally with Design, Planning, Retail, E-commerce, Marketing and VM to ensure successful product launches.
Support the development of junior team members through clear guidance, feedback and day-to-day coaching where required.

3–5 years’ experience in a Buyer or similar commercial product role within a retail fashion brand.
Strong understanding of fashion retail, product and customer behaviour.
Proven experience building and buying ranges.
Strong commercial and numerical ability.
Good understanding of costing, margin and retail pricing.

Ability to interpret sales, stock and product performance and turn insights into action.
Strong product judgement and attention to detail.
Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple collections and deadlines at once.
Proactive, decisive and comfortable taking ownership.
Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
Experience within activewear or apparel would be advantageous.
Previous experience managing, mentoring or training a junior team member would be advantageous.
